You read it right, the San Diego... State Aztecs football team has won the Mountain West Conference Championship sharing it with Fresno State. They played Wyoming today and although there was a fumbling problem, they cleaned up in the second half and shut down the Cowboy attack. Go Aztecs and we look forward to seeing you in either the Las Vegas Bowl or the Poinsettia Bowl. Now onto the NFL game picks, Chargers and more.
CHARGERS:
The Chargers get to take on a familiar foe tomorrow being the Baltimore Ravens. Last year the Chargers manhandled the Ravens and they look to do it for the second straight season in San Diego. But, many fans in San Diego will not be able to see the game. It's blacked out, again. Fans are not paying for overpriced tickets to see an under-performing team. It starts with the management. Head Coach Norv Turner and General Manager A.J. Smith have not brought in enough talent to compete and seem happy with being 8-8 every season. There is also blame on the owner Dean Spanos. He does not address this and lets Turner and Smith do what they want. We were 14-2 at one point not too long ago...
Pick: Baltimore Ravens at San Diego Chargers - Chargers WIN 42-38
This is the game where the Chargers will win and end their two game losing streak. It will be a shootout as both teams have weak secondaries but we have Weddle and he will make one play that decides the game.
NFL:
For starters, I went 5-1 with my game picks bringing my two week total to 8-3. As with last week, I will pick the Chargers game and the five most intriguing games of the week. Unfortunately, I missed out on the three Thanksgiving games but there are many more games to choose and intriguing match ups as well. And for the first time, I will introduce a new guest game picker for every week and see how they stack up against each other and myself. This weeks guest is Rath David Hy. He played high school football and excels in the adult flag football league. He is an aspiring filmmaker and he is also a big Charger and Ray Lewis fan which makes him intriguing for this weeks picks. Here we go.
1. Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears- (my pick) Vikings WIN ; (Dave) Bears WIN
Cutler is coming back from injury and this offense is in disarray. The Vikings will steal this one on the road and make the NFC North anyone's race.
2. Buffalo Bills at Indianapolis Colts- (my pick) Colts WIN ; (Dave) Colts WIN
After getting destroyed by the Patriots last week, Andrew Luck will bounce back and have a huge game for the Colts. The Colts play excellent at home and are in a position to make the playoffs.
3. Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers- (my pick) Buccs WIN ; (Dave) Falcons WIN
Tampa Bay is on an impressive winning streak and Atlanta has shown flaws in their last few games. I think Doug Martin will have another huge day and Vincent Jackson will catch the game winning touchdown.
4. San Francisco at New Orleans- (my pick) 49ers WIN ; (Dave) 49ers WIN
The Saints are on an unbelievable run after starting out 0-4 but the 49ers will end the streak and win a big conference rival on the road.
5. Green Bay at New York Giants- (my pick) Packers WIN ; (Dave) Giants WIN
The G men are in a downward spiral and getting the opportunity to play the Packers will not help. Aaron Rodgers will light up the scoreboard on the Giants and will take this with ease.
Dave also chose the San Diego Super Chargers to WIN
Fantasy:
Here is a brief installment of what to expect in my next blog. It will be about my fantasy league ' Skillz that Killz.' My team name is " Left Hand Shame" and my record is currently 8-3. It is a 12 team league and after starting 1-3, I am currently on an seven game winning streak. My guest picker Dave is also in the league, " Rathman the Barbarian" is currently 8-3 and in second place due to having more points scored than me. The top eight teams make it with no byes for top two seeds making it all more important to be on your game each and every week. This week I am taking on the Peruvian Flake. Currently after the first three games, I am winning 67-10 thanks to strong performances by Tony Romo, Wes Welker and Alfred Morris. I need my running backs Chris Johnson and Ahmad Bradshaw to have big weeks for me to maintain my lead and win my eighth straight. In the next blog post I will go more in depth about the league, the teams and the trash..talk.
Currently as I am writing this, Notre Dame is taking on the USC Trojans. Go Irish!
BREAKING NEWS: The Notre Dame fighting Irish are in the national championship game. Opponent will be the winner of the SEC Championship game between Georgia and Alabama. And Johnny Manziel aka Johnny Football is dominating the Missouri Tigers and his Heisman chances look better each game. Thanks everyone for reading. If you like my blog, comment, subscribe and vote in my poll to be involved. If you would like to be next weeks guest picker, comment why or text me or hit me up on Facebook haha. Peace.
