CHARGERS: Of course the Chargers lead the post, they're the only team from SD that's in season right now. This week SuperCam leaps all the way from Carolina to take on the Bolts. It will be challenging as Cam Newton has begun to come into his own fresh off of a major upset against Atlanta last week. He can not only throw but run about as good as any running back in the league. The Chargers, coming off an upset of their own, will look to continue their winning ways to finish the season strong. As fans wait for Norv Turner and AJ Smith take an exit, there is still football to be watched, oh wait, we blacked out again. Let me rephrase that, there is football to be streamed illegally online for all of us to witness. Mathews will need to play a large role in this game if the Chargers want to win. Tackling will be huge for our defense and they must contain Newton to have a chance. I like the Chargers chances and this game will be in the weekly picks so yeah, keep scrolling to find out.
NFL Game Picks:
So we had our first perfect week of the season, Jeff Ott went 4-1 raising his two week record to 7-3. Congrats Jeff, but not really. I am now 5-5 after a 3-2 week. McCall and Dave round out the bottom two with McCall in third place at 4-6 and Dave at 3-7. Keep it up guys and Jeff, let some of us catch up. As always, if you would like to be part of the game picks as a celebrity picker, chooser or forecaster, whatever you would like to call yourself, comment on this article or contact me on the Facebook. Here they are:
1. Carolina at San Diego
Cam Newton will take his talents to South Beach then hop on a plane to sunny San Diego to take on the Chargers this week. The emergence of Denario Alexander has been a positive for this Chargers team. Lets hope he does not turn into a Jared Gaither type player next season. If the defense can contain Newton, the Chargers have a good chance of winning.
Curtis: San Diego Dave: San Diego McCall: San Diego Jeff: San Diego
2. New York Giants at Atlanta
The G men look to bulldoze over the NFC South again like the shellacking they put on against the Saints last week. At this time I would like to point out that Eli Manning is a terrible quarterback, his defense won him two Superbowls and his receivers had two lucky catches to help him out. So yeah, the Falcons lost to the Panthers, take a couple seconds for that sink in... Two good teams at least record wise should make a good game out of this. Atlanta does not usually lose at home and the Giants are without their starting running back Ahmad Bradshaw. Fourth quarter comeback for the winner.
Curtis: Atlanta Dave: New York McCall: New York Jeff: New York
3. Indianapolis at Houston
The fighting Chuck Strongs now actually have a chance to win the AFC South as long as they win out. Houston still controls their own destiny as well as a win here would likely clinch the South for the Texans. Arian Foster of the Texans will look to have a huge breakout game against the Colts. Andrew Luck must be Tom Brady like to beat this good Texan defense. A huge task for a rookie but one I see possible.
Curtis: Houston Dave: Houston McCall: Indianapolis Jeff: Houston
4. Green Bay at Chicago
What has happened to the Bears. Losing to the Seahawks at home and then on the road against AP and the Vikings have been momentum killers as well as the possibility they will not make the playoffs. Now they have to take on Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. It is a must win for the Bears and they must get after the quarterback and run the ball effectively to win.
Curtis: Green Bay Dave: Chicago McCall: Green Bay Jeff: Green Bay
5. San Francisco at New England
Both coming off victories, this match up may very well be what we all see come Super Bowl Sunday. The 49ers continue to ride the hot hand of Colin Kaepernick and his running ability that has proven to be nearly unstoppable. Tom Brady and the Pats just embarrassed the Texans last week and look to do so again on their home turf against San Francisco. This game may end up being determined by the team who gets the ball last.

Some legit picks out there for this week. Any team could win any of these games which makes it so difficult to predict. Some good games though this weekend so sit back, relax and remember, FIRE NORV!
BASEBALL
PADRES: The Padres have made some minor moves this week picking up a couple relievers through both trade and free agency. There is also some speculation that the Padres are looking for one more starting pitcher and rumor has it that they are strongly pursuing Edwin Jackson. He is an innings eater, he is only 29 and he has thrown a no hitter, something the Padres have never done. He also does not get injured which is key because the Padres pitching staff is always obliterated by injuries. His cost may be high but he would be well worth it.
THE REST OF THE LEAGUE:
Josh Hamilton has signed with... the ANGELS. Who saw that coming, I know i did not. He now joins Albert Pujols, Mark Trumbo and Mike Trout in what is now one of if not the best lineups in baseball. The AL west may end up being the best division in baseball, but they have the Astros so probably not.
R.A. Dickey rumors are out and about again. This time the Mets are in talks with both the Blue Jays and the Angels for the cy young knuckleballer. He would end up costing a top prospect or two but both of these teams are one pitcher away from seriously contending. I think he ends up in Toronto.
Anibal Sanchez: Who, no one has heard of this guy but he just got an 80 million dollar deal with the Tigers. He pitched well in the second half of the season last year and is known for throwing a no hitter in his second career start.
