I will comment on sports that go down in Americas Finest City. Includes the Padres, Chargers, and other teams that come through this city by the beach.

Its that time of the year again...
Its the eve of the day that sports fans have been waiting for since Feb 2nd, FOOTBALL IS BACK. To kick things off, the defending Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers will take on the champs from two years back, the New Orleans Saints. It should be a high quality game but i see the Packers defense being too much and Green Bay winning 31 to 21. The Chargers, who i think will take the AFC West fairly easily this year, will take on the Minnesota Vikings with an older quarterback not named Favre. Apparently theyre gonna wait till week 2 to contact him. Mcnabb and AP all day Adrian Peterson lead the Vikings attack with a descent pass game and a very effective running game. The defense of the Vikings might be a little shawty with one half of Williams brothers( no relation) out. Jared Allen at defensive end could shake things up but Marcus Mcneill might have something to say about that. On the Chargers side of the ball, look for an air Coryell style offense with some ground game to balance it out. Rivers looks to have a monster year with a healthy receiving corp and no more Nnamdi. Look for Mathews and Tolbert to share the ground game and im expecting a load of 1 yard runs and then a 60 yard scamper to the house. Thats just what happens in the Turner offense. The defense looks strong this year led by the 40 million dollar man Eric Weddle and seasoned vet The Knockout Takeo Spikes. I also see Cory 2 Liuget to quit starting his NFL career with a solid game. He will be very disruptive against the pass and will make old man Mcnabb run for his life. This game should be a good one and i see the Chargers starting fast for once winning 35 to 17. In other news, THE PADRES WONNNN a game... Behind solid pitching and timely hitting from Venable, Guzman, and Maybin, the Padres eeked out a 3 to 1 squeeker over those pesky Giants. Heath Bell got a 4 out save for the first time in a longgg time. Another interesting point of this game was when the announcers Mark Neely, Mark Grant, and Mr Padre Tony Gwynn decided to talk about Spongebob Squarepants and Dora the Explorer... Really??? Well anyways, theyre spending their time wisely as Fox sports is bound to be the new home of the San Diego Padres which in turn will hopefully up our payroll. A guy can dream cant he... Well, on that note it looks to be a good weekend in the sporting world and in my next post i will talk about everyones favorite past time, Dodgeball. OVER AND OUT.

Its tough to say that they'll take the division easily. They're basically the same team plus Vincent Jackson, although they should have an easier schedule now...
ReplyDeleteLookin forward to some dodgeball news!!!
