Weekend Recap
This weekend featured many sporting events including the start of the football season, the Padres playing, and Dodgeball is Lifes Balls without Walls tournament down in South Mission Beach. For starters, i did not have the best week when it came to picking games. I finished 3 and 4 and with certain teams(cowboys) deciding to give up, i could of had a much more respectable record. My game of the week pick turned out to be the most lopsided game of the weekend. I definitely did not see the Steelers playing like a team that is 0 and 16. They should have done a lot better but from watching that game the Ravens have become true contenders. Winning all phases of the game, the Ravens put on a show from the first drive all the way to the end of the game. The hometown Chargers had me thinking here we go again with their first play blunder giving up a huge kick off return touchdown to Percy Harvin. The kicker Nate "Mr regular season only" Kaeding went down on that play and is now out for the rest of the season. Mr Mack truck Mike Tolbert and Ryan Mathews led the way for the offense while Philip Rivers had Antonio Gates on speed dial calling his number multiple times. The Chargers won the game 24 to 17. Heres a question for anyone, did anyone see the Redskins beating the Giants in beatdown fashion like they did. Well i know one guy did. Maybe sexy Rexy can actually lead this team to a respectable record and vie for a playoff spot. Its possible because the Cowboys like to just give up games. What was Romo thinking when he booked his flight to Revis Island with 54 seconds in the game. Bonehead move by a bonehead quarterback. Well enough football, the Padres were in Arizona this weekend and won 1 of 3. They should of won 2 because Heath Bell decided to walk everyone including the game winning run. The Padres have made it a frustrating year and are basically building for next year. If they want to win, i think they need to get a big time bat who can hit more than 10 home runs. Its pathetic that the leading home run guy has 8... C'MON MAN! One of the more fun events of the weekend was Saturdays Balls Without Walls dodgeball tournament. Although i did not play, i did attend and enjoyed myself in the sober corner. There were 6 teams with both guys and girls on it. I had to leave early so i dont know who won, but i imagine that it took a long time to finish and was really fun. Well this weekend was a good one and on deck is more dodgeball, Padres and Chargers news and maybe some of my alma mater La Jolla Vikings football who won last Friday bringing their record to 1 and 1. One more thing, while writing this i just saw Sebastien Janikowski kick a 63 field goal against the Denver Broncos... Wow. Over And Out.
